To all Active JW's on the board

as you are all aware i am new to the board, this is my third topic post.

since i have come online and expressed some concerns regarding docturnal issues, i have been pm'd by several active jw's on the board pretending to have concerns also but then sending pm's to "trust in the congregation and jevovah", "talk to the elders about your concerns" and "stick close to the congregation".

i would like to make this known loud and clear -

The poster wanted "concrete" information; I tried to be careful to provide only that.

Regarding your questions, I will tell you my opinion, and it is just, my personal opinion. Despite being an active JW, I do not think the FDS has yet been appointed. I am not alone in my personal opinion. I do not think Jesus has begun ruling yet, and the holy spirit CLEARLY does not control every action, appointment, etc. in the congregation.

Do I think it is Jehovah's organization? Yes, just as the wicked Pharisees were still the "official party." The great thing about that is that I also believe that all the condemnations of the major prophets against the leadership of Israel apply to JW leaders, NOT Christendom. And I can't wait to see them come to fruition.

I am a friend of Jehovah's, not the Corporation.

stop me from attending meetings by taking the car away so I walked to and from meeting with my 6 month old son, calling me horrible names and in the end started getting violent.

You have the right to separate from a violent spouse. That type personality will usually commit adultery within a short amount of time, therefore, scriptually freeing you. That is the offenders problem, not yours.

She had to stay married to him or she would lose her priveldges in the congregation. Would Jehovah agree with that, or any kind person even consider that scriptural?

Illicit sex relations outside of Scriptural marriage. The Hebrew verb za·nah´ and its related forms convey the idea of harlotry, immoral intercourse, fornication, or prostitution. (Ge 38:24; Ex 34:16; Ho 1:2; Le 19:29) The Greek word translated "fornication" is por·nei´a. Regarding the meanings of por·nei´a, B. F. Westcott in his book Saint Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians (1906, p. 76) says: "This is a general term for all unlawful intercourse, (I) adultery: Hos. ii. 2, 4 (LXX.); Matt. v. 32; xix. 9; (2) unlawful marriage, I Cor. v. Need marriage help

Council of Nicaea / Arius / Constantine and the Bible

i've been reading up on the constantine's involvement in the compilation of the bible at the council of nicaea.

as well as the ousting of arius because of his "controversial" beliefs.

it's been many years since i've read any watchtower literature...anyone know what the jw's believe / teach / preach regarding this subject.

Especially the whole deal with Arius....he had views that differed from the mainstream...such as that the trinity was bogus. So he was deemed a heretic and his works were destroyed. And nothing was included in the "bible" that supported his version. And what about all the other books that were voted out that didn't make the final cut. What did those say?

In addition to your other research, you may want to read the book, "When Jesus Became God." I will include the Amazon link at the bottom. The writer ( a jewish man) was given amazing access to the Vatican's library...which is very guarded. The fight regarding the divinity of Jesus between the eastern and western portions of Christianity is what almost detroyed it. That is why the Catholic church so guards these documents...it could possibly happen again.

Regardless, I think you would enjoy this book.

To newbies: You give up your rights when you become a Witness

i was sitting here thinking: am i making fun of my children's religion?

am i being disrespectful to witnesses?

i was raised to be accepting of other people's religious choices.

Actually, I disagree with #7. I will paraphrase a comment from an annointed sister (who BTW doesn't think the FDS has been appointed yet)...Jehovah's Witnesses...where the women have beards and the men don't!

how does a witness answer this?

if we are indeed living "deep into the time of the end", and if jehovah is going to speed things up, then why are the numbers of the organization getting lower with each passing year?

with the chart below showing their dwindling and embarassing figures, it's one of two things: either this organization does not have god's blessing, or the end must still be a long way off...........i've quoted a couple of captions from the literature......hmmm..... seems to me like they fit the description of babylon the great a little bit better than an organization that is being run by jesus christ.. *** .

Nope. I think it is more like Moses' day...when a vast mixed company made a snap decision right at the end and survived.
